After my B.S. degree, years of hospital laboratory and blood bank work lead me to travel 10 years with Becton Dickinson as a Medical Technology Representative. I covered much of the country and did some international travel, though most of that was for pleasure.
I was pregnant with our son at the last reunion. At that time we lived on the beautiful Half Moon Bay Ocean Colony Golf Links near San Francisco. Though much of my time there was spent playing league tennis or golf, I actually had a California Real Estate license but when it came to using it….. Well, there were too many fun things to do in Northern California so we decided to move back to Houston where we live today.
Graham will be a 4th grader this fall at River Oaks Elementary, close to our home. He enjoys Little League baseball, swimming, golfing, racing a Soap Box Derby car, Cub Scouts, and, of course, video games. My husband, Steve, retired from the corporate world in 2002 and is now a professor at the University of Houston where he teaches marketing. He spends the balance of his time serving as director on corporate boards, expanding the family’s classic car collection, piddling in our music studio, and racing a sports car (2002 SW Regional Champion.)
When Graham and I aren’t busy playing together, I volunteer in several roles including: board member of the National Hemophilia Foundation Lone Star Chapter, Cub Scouts Leadership, school library, St. John the Devine Episcopal Children’s Program, The Women’s Home, and cleaning the backyard pool (Steve won’t let me get a pool man; something about the last one spending too much time inside the house.) With all this going on, you would think I wouldn’t have time to get old, but alas, it appears I’m doing that too with the least amount of effort.
